Directing and Musical Theatre
After participating in musicals in high school and choreographing a few workshops at her community theatre, Elizabeth Neybert ’25 chose to follow her passions and pursue the arts in college. At Carthage, she’s participated in two musicals, a showcase, and the New Play Initiative production of “Memento Mori.” She also received a Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship.
“My advisors and professors have encouraged me to take risks and take advantage of opportunities that are presented to me. They have helped me grow as a student and as an artist.”
“My favorite class at Carthage is Music Theatre Techniques. In this course, I am able to perform new pieces and work on acting through song. I get to learn how to accept critiques and apply new techniques while watching others learn. The process of the class is very beneficial, and it builds such a beautiful and supportive community.”
“I plan to continue pursuing theatre after graduation. I especially want to perform, direct, and choreograph productions in the Chicagoland area.”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite place on campus is anywhere that overlooks the lake. I love to sit on the rocks and listen to music while watching the sun shimmer on the waves.”
What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?
